Becca's Books is awarding Silent Scream by the brilliant Angela Marsons with FIVE OF MY GORGEOUS CUPCAKES! I have read three of the four Kim Stone crime thrillers at this point, and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Where I think Angela Marsons managed to do this is with her intense characters, especially Detective Inspector Kim Stone.

I don't want to say too much about this book as I feel it is best to go into this book not knowing too much about plot. This doesn’t happen to me all that often, so it goes without saying, that I am definitely on board for book two, and can’t wait to see how this series shapes up.We are gradually introduced to a large cast of characters, all fleshed out to some extent making it easy to keep them straight. So excited to share the prologue of Dying Truth - book 8 in the Kim Stone series which is going on to Netgalley very, very soon!

An absolutely gripping, darkly compelling, and nail-bitingly tense mystery thriller that will keep you racing through the pages long into the night.But she has a need to fight for the victims, a depth of understanding that can only come from someone who has ultimately suffered herself, and an underlying tenderness, displayed best when it comes to the character of Lucy, that is extremely well written. The mystery is good and ends up quite convoluted as they seek not just a murderer from the present but also one from the past. This is the first of a series, and I was intrigued by DI Kim Stone, and her team, from the start, growing to love their tenacious and relentless efforts to bring justice to those who have been lost. I love the way Kim's own past is revealed over the course of the book, information is disclosed on a need to know basis.
