The OSD (On Screen Display) is controlled by pressable buttons on the underside of the bottom bezel, towards the right side. A small forwards-facing power LED is also included in this region, to the right of the buttons. This glows white when the monitor is on and orange when it enters a low power state. The video below explores this menu system and the accompanying ‘G-Menu’ software which can be used to control it. The stand of the monitor is quite sturdy and offers a good range of ergonomics, including up to 130mm height adjustment, +/- 30° swivel, -5°/23° tilt, 90° pivot and 100x100mm VESA mount compatibility, while the screen has a matte anti-glare coating against reflections. The operating altitude shows the maximum admissible altitude, at which the display will function flawlessly. Above this level it might not operate properly and/or might seize to function. All in all, the AOC 24G2SP is an excellent budget gaming monitor. You get a slightly higher brightness and refresh rate for a minor jump up in the price, so gamers can decide for themselves which model makes more sense for them. There are different energy efficiency classes and each sets its own requirements regarding the power consumption. Finally, the 1920×1080 Full HD screen resolution looks decent on the 23.8″ viewable screen of the monitor. You get sharper details and text than you would on a 27″ monitor with the same resolution. The static contrast shows the ratio between the brightest and the darkest color, which the display can reproduce simultaneously, for example, within one and the same frame/scene. The operating humidity shows the acceptable level of humidity, in which the display will function flawlessly. A fairly effective LBL setting, with the blue channel now weakened significantly and a corresponding reduction in blue light output. The image appears warm and somewhat green, though our eyes adjusted to an extent over time.

Note again that you can use the ‘Frame Counter’ feature in the ‘Game Setting’ section of the OSD to display the current refresh rate of the monitor. This will reflect the frame rate if it’s within the main VRR window of the monitor. Keep in mind that there’s a similar model, the AOC 24G2S, which actually has a VA panel with a higher contrast ratio but a slower response time.
