I’m extremely happy with my DS1054Z Oscilloscope. It represents very good value for a hobbyist such as myself. Telonic’s service was impeccable, with the stated next day delivery and a provided time slot for the courier which was honored. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend both the product and the service to a friend. The DS1202Z-E comes with two 350 MHz PVP2350 probes. All other models come with one 150 MHz PVP3150 Probe for each channel. The PVP Series Probes are 1x:10x selectable.

Ease up on the "Rigol-hater" rhetoric. The issues are more complex than that. Interpolation is involved with triggering, as well as drawing your squiggly line. IMO, the Rigol does a really good job of generating a stable trigger overall--better in fact than any of my analog scopes except the 2465B, and excepting low signal levels where some of the analog scopes trigger cleanly on much lower signals. I needed a scope for the basic analysis of signals. I was going to get a 2-channel scope from a named manufacturer but realised I could really do with 3 channels. So I Googled 4-channel scopes and the Rigol came up. Early testing indicates that its overall performance isn’t quite to Tek standard but it is good and the feature-set is remarkable – so it may get more use than I originally thought.More a review about Telonic than the scope itself as haven’t had much time to play with the scope. This one seems to work with Sigrok and Pulseview on Linux via USB which allow to display traces and control settings.

Great service came with all the options and next day delivery. Price was compatible with bangood so all round recommended deal and supplier. The scope is a no brainier performance equal to much more expensive makes and with the decoders a powerful tool. Even if Rigol one day comes up with the idea of only selling the 100MHz version (regardless of the price of the 50MHz), Down side is that the manual is very basic, but there are many u-tube videos to learn about the more sophisticated features. Modern oscilloscopes are often loaded with features, but every now and then you run into a feature that seems easy to implement yet isn’t available. [kgsws] wanted to use his Rigol DS1074 to show live measurements in his YouTube videos, but found out that this scope doesn’t support video output. Not to be deterred, [kgsws] decided to add this feature himself. In the video embedded below, he describes in detail the process of adding a USB Video Capture (UVC) interface to his oscilloscope.

Overall this device is really hard to fault for the price and easily out performs the competing products. My workbench having become too small for both projects AND my vintage HP54501A I set out into the interweb with specs and a budget in mind for a new scope. There were many contenders in the my price range but most of them take a fair to inordinate drubbing for their shortcomings on the multitude of blogs and forums.

Telonic mention a 12 month warranty, the rest of the world has a 3 year warranty… If you register the product with Rigol it appears to become a 3 year warranty, but only via Germany!

I was recommended the Rigol DS1054Z scope by a friend and all I can say is, he was spot on with his recommendation. It’s a fantastic little scope. I use the cursor facility a lot and the on-screen display cannot be moved from its top-left corner and so it covers a useful part of the screen. Pascal’s not dead. But it’s also not cool to say so. Like listening to ABBA – sing along at the top of your voice (you know all the words anyways), but NEVER tell your friends you do it! A superb Instrument that has facilities unheard of a few years ago, It will take me some time to explore fully.
